THE UNIVERSITY

Maharshi Dayanand University, initially known as Rohtak University, Rohtak, was established by an Act of Legislature of Haryana in 1976 with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the field of environmental, ecological and life Sciences, Initially it was a unitary and residential University, but in November 1978, its character was changed and it became an affiliating University. Through an amendment in the Act in 1977, it was named after the great revolutionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand and came to be known as Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

The University Grants Commission recognized this University under section 2 (f) for the recognition of degrees and under section 12(b) of the University Grants Commission Act for central grants on Feb. 2, 1983.

LOCATION:

The University is situated at Rohtak, a District Headquarter of Haryana, about 75 kms from Delhi on Delhi Hissar National Highway (NH-10). It is at a distance of about 240 kms from Chandigarh , the State Capital. It is well connected by rail and road. Rohtak is an educationally forward town with facilities of education in all available fields.

CAMPUS:

The University Campus is spread over a sprawling area of approx. 700 acres. The campus is well laid with state of art buildings and wide road network. It presents a spectacle of harmony in architecture and natural beauty. There are many Teaching Blocks, Hostels, a Central Library, Campus School, Health centre, Faculty House, Sports Stadium, Community Centre, Swimming Pool, Printing Press, Canteen, Shopping Complex, Multipurpose Gymnasium Hall and an Administrative Block. About 550 residential houses are available for faculty members and non-teaching staff.

ROLE OF NIAM:

The Dynamic global business scenario has necessitated a tremendous proliferation of alternative systems of redefined education. At the forefront of this effort, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, offers Industry Integrated graduate and post graduate regular degree programmes under Public Private Partnership with NIAM, New Delhi , and through it’s widely recognized Extended Learning Centers.

As a  “ Training and Research Institute” of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, NIAM arranges, coordinates, and monitors on-the-job training of the students enrolled into the MBA (Industry Integrated) programmes. Besides this, NIAM also acts as an interface between the < Extended < Learning Centers and the University and coordinates with the University for All the Matters related to the institutes, students or programmes.

DIMS FUNDATION: 

DIMS Foundation is an educational Society registered with the Govt. of India under the Societies Act 1860, and has been inspected by Maharshi  Dayanand University , Rohtak, and after inspection found fit to act as an “Extended Learning Centre” of the University to Conduct MBA (Full Time) Industry Integrated Programme. MBA (INDUSTRY INTEGRATED)

 

Masters of Business Administrations (Industry Integrated) is not just a post-graduate degree in business administration; rather it is an extension of the traditional MBA programme as It involves highly interactive teaching sessions and diversified work experience. In each classroom session of MBA (Industry Integrated) programme, an in –depth preparation goes into imparting the modern concepts of management with emphasis on class participation and case studies. The case studies are strategically important learning tools in the fast changing business scenario.

MBA (Industry Integrated) programme is conceptualized to provide hands-on experience in the real business environment. It is more application oriented and provides practical exposure to the students along with classroom theoretical knowledge of business and industry.

The methodology of Industry Integrated programme significantly differs from the traditional programmes. The programme blends ‘Industry Exposure’ with ‘Academic Knowledge’. Through the programme, the student undergoes On-the-Job raining from 2nd semester to 4th semester. The academic component is taught through class room learning at the authorized Extended Learning Centers located in different parts of the country. By the end of the programme, the student gets a regular management degree as well as industry exposure and hands-on experience. On successful completion of Industry Integrated programme, students have an edge over the students of traditional MBA programmes.

MBA (Industry Integrated) programme can benefit fresh graduates with minimal knowledge of business organizations and industrial work environment. In order to cope up with the changing technological environment, Extended Learning Centers impart advanced academic inputs. The academic session involve regular presentations, case studies, group activities, seminars, assignments and class tests under the guidance of eminent faculties. Students learn innovative business tools, process and insights of leading organizations and global economy. Industry Integrated programme is an opportunity for the Students to learn their syllabi by simultaneously practicing the same in the real work environment through On-the-Job Training. Students learn from a diverse group of experience and imbibe intelligent professional spirit of partnership. Social and Environmental Resposiblities

In view of thought shaping and life changing management education, it becomes imperative to inculcate social and environmental responsibilities amongst the students. In the first semester, a 50-hour In-house Training is imparted, which emphasizes on grooming, personality development, communication skills, presentation skills, corporate mannerisms, motivation and management. The purpose is to transform the kinetics of youth into mainstream of national development. In addition, continuous On-the-Job Training exposure reduces unemployment. Self sustaining career reduces parental anixiety about employment of their children. The early career break is both inspiring and motivating.

Duration:


The duration of Master of Business Administration (Industry Integrated) programme is two academic years. Each year is divided into two semesters. The programme comprises of four semesters. Each semester has at least 90 teaching and on-the-Job training days. Authorized Extended Learning Centers of the University conduct classes as per the norms of the University and NIAM arranges, coordinates, and monitors the On-the-Job-Training for the students. On successful completion of all the four semesters, the students are awarded a regular degree in Masters in Business Administration (Industry Integrated) by < Maharshi < Dayanand University , Rohtak. A candidate can complete all the four semesters within a maximum period of 4 years. Thus, the maximum duration of the MBA (Industry Integrated) programme is 4 years

Eligibility:

 

A candidate with Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline*, from a University recognized by UGC/Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, can apply for the MBA (Industry Integrated) programme. Medium of Learning: The medium of instruction and examination is “English”

Specializations Offered:

To cater to the various career choices that an MBA (Industry Integrated) aspirant might have, dual specialization is offered to the candidate. The students can apply for any two specializations mentioned below:

Examination:

 

The examination of 1st and 3rd semester shall be held in the month of December / January and for 2nd & 4th semester in the month of May / June or on dates fixed by the University. Students will be eligible for the semester-end examination provided they are on the rolls of the Extended Learning Centers and have attended not less tan 75% of the total lectures delivered and 80% of the industry days allotted in the concerned semester.

Passing Criteria:

 

The minimum percentage of marks to pass the examination in each semester shall be;

A)  45% marks in each external written paper and internal assessment separately and 50% marks in aggregate.

B) 50% marks in the internal evaluation in case of Training Report and 50% marks in viva voce examination.

C) 50% marks in Computer Theory paper and 50% marks in Computer Practical exam.

In order to successfully complete the programme, a candidate must pass all the papers of all semesters as per the criteria mentioned above.

1. Demand Draft for Rs. 31800/- for the 1st Semester and Rs. 31500/- in Subsequent Semesters in favour of “ Finance Officer Maharshi Dayanand University ” Payable at Rohtak.

2. Demand Draft for Rs. 15000/- per semester in favour of “DIMS FOUNDATION” payable at New Delhi.



ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR INDUSTRY INTEGRATED PROGRAMMES

Step 1:

Duly filled in Registration Cum Admission Form along with the registration fee and attested copy of eligibility documents shall be submitted at recognized Extended Learning Centers of < Maharshi < Dayanand University . (Visit: www.mduiip.net or www.niamindia.org for list of Extended Learning Centers of Maharshi Dayanand University. The demand draft for registration amount shall be drawn in favour of “Finance Officer, Maharshi Dayanand University ” Payable at Rohtak.

Step 2:

Candidates who have appeared in the national and / or international entrance test, such as, GMAT/CAT/MAT for MBA will be exempted from the written test. Such candidates may apply directly with a copy of result of the entrance test, for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at the Extended Learning Centre of their choice. However, all aspiring candidates who have not appeared in the said tests shall be required to appear in the University Entrance Examination. The details and venue for the same shall be intimated in the National Dailies by M D University/NIAM.

 

Step 3:

All candidates have to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. A merit list would be prepared on the basis of the written test, Group Discussion & Personal Interview. Successful candidates shall submit the programme fee of Rupees 30,000/-, in case of MBA (Industry Intergraded) programme, through a demand draft, drawn in favour of “Finance Officer, Maharshi Dayanand University” Payable at Rohtak. At the recognized Extended Learning Centre. The candidates are also required to submit both original and attested photocopies of the following documents along with the Registration cum Admission Form:

The original documents, except the Migration certificate, will be returned to the students after verification by the University.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

Admission:

à         Read the prospectus carefully before filling up the Registration cum Admission Form.

à    Candidates from UGC recognized University can apply for the programme. Unless otherwise decided by the University to exclude graduation examination of any recognized University, graduation examination conducted by various UGC recognized Universities are recognized for the purpose of admission to this programme. In this regard, the decision of < Maharshi < Dayanand University will be final and binding.

à    Application complete in all respects should be submitted at the recognized Extended Learning Centre of the University only. (Visit websites: www.mduiip.net or www.niamindia.org for updated list of Extended Learning Centers)

à         Candidates are required to submit original documents along with photocopies duly attested by a Gazetted Officer of the Director of the recognized Extended Learning Centre of Maharshi Dayanand University only.

à   Application forms incomplete in any respect and without the requisite fee will be summarily rejected and admission, if granted, on false information provided by the candidate will be cancelled.

à       Application Forms received after the last date specified will not be entertained.

à    The University reserves the right to make any changes to the programme and fee structure.

à        For all legal matters, the jurisdiction is restricted to the court at Rohtak only.

à         Fee once submitted is not refundable under any circumstances.

Examination:

à   There will be a semester system of examinations. Semester-end examinations will be held in the months of December/January and May/ June or on the dates fixed by University from time to time.

à     The student has to deposit examination fee as per University norms.

à       The examination centers will be fixed by the University, subject to the availability of a minimum number of candidates at the centers.

à   Every candidate shall be examined according to the scheme of examination and syllabus prescribed by the University from time to time.

à    It is compulsory to have 75% attendance in the theory classes to be eligible to appear in the semester-end external examination conducted by the University.

On The Job Training:

à       NIAM shall provide two On-the-Job Training opportunities to the students during the entire programme.

à         Students appearing in interview/s, if selected, must join the company on the given date and inform NIAM in writing.

à    In case On-the-Job Training is arranged by the student, he/she would be required to inform the Placement Officer/Coordinator of NIAM in writing and should submit the offer letter within 15 days of joining the organization. However, self arranged on-the-job training shall be monitored by NIAM.

à     Training Diaries would be provided to the students in the beginning of 2nd semester. Students have to maintain the training diary on daily basis and submit the same along with the training report at the time of vive voce.

à      Students should not take any leave during the training days. In case they do so, they should intimate the organization and NIAM in writing.

à         It is compulsory for the students to have minimum 80% attendance during the training.

à    During the OJT, the student may get stipend. Stipend is the prerogative of the Industry / Companies. NIAM shall not be held responsible in case the industry / Company does not pay the same due to non performance or indiscipline.

à    The monitoring of students performance during the training period will be examined by the respective manager of the organization and the Placement Officer/ Coordinator of NIAM.

à      Training report has to be submitted as per the formats and content details given by the University. It is compulsory to clear vive-voce for the completion of the programme.

Special Guidance:

In order to prepare the students, Extended Learning Centre provides the set of Standard Books to each student covering complete syllabus in depth. Also provide facility to the student for consulting various books in the Institute Library as per the norms of the Library. Also conducted special grooming & personality development classes by the experts at the Extended Learning Centre.  Extended Centre provides guidance in preparing project report at the end of each semester & also arranges the Interview for on-the-job Training, guidance for final placement & also takes care day to day massage services & other facilities against the nominal cost for the growth of the student.
