Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) 

 

One Year Specialised Post Graduate Diploma are also conducted By IMT-CDL in the various Disciplines of Management. 

 

Study Help:

Study Centre helps all the candidates in coordinating the personal contact programmes on Saturday’s in the evenings & on Sunday’s in the day time to guide the Students. Each student has to write assignments as per the guidelines available on the IMT-CDL network (www.imtcdl.ac.in) & submit the same at the centre for evaluation. Study centre professors check the assignments & return back the evaluated assignments to the students which carry 20% marks. Other guidelines are also provided by the study centre from time to time.

Students are advised to see the IMT site for all guidance like, Examination date sheet, Results & time to time guidelines.

Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management

(PGDBM)

IMT-Centre for Distance Learning Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) through the distance mode is specially designed to equip the students with comprehensive management education. It is a two year programme and comprises of four modules. It aims to provide young graduates an opportunity to develop management skills and to compete successfully in the global business environment. The curriculum has been designed to lay a strong foundation for logical and analytical skills of the students.

The programme provides an intensive, stimulating and challenging learning experience in the management discipline. The curriculum covers all the important areas of management which may be expected from a working manager. The successful completion of the programme will enable executives to assume a strategic role in their organization. In turn, the organizations benefit from the constructive and creative inputs given by our successful programme holders. In addition, the integrated nature of the programme allows a holistic appreciation of business, which is critical to the achievement of a sustainable competitive position in today’s ever-changing business environment. The students conduct self-study at their own pace and have the opportunity to specialize in subjects of professional relevance. The programme through distance education is a viable and flexible route to well-accepted management qualification.

  

The programme has been designed to provide specialization in the are of choice and the programme would carry the name of Specialization.

Programme Objective:

  *The   critically   appraise   a  range   of   relevant   theoretical business

   management  concepts.

·            *To demonstrate  proficiency in  analysing and interpreting a wide range 

of     business information related to the various functional areas of  

         management.

·            *To  develop  and  demonstrate  key  personal  and  inter-personal skills

          required for  effective  management  and implementation of solutions to

          business problems at all levels within and outside the organisation.

·            *To update the knowledge base related to various business domains and

          appreciate their significance.

·            *To   critically   appreciate   the   significance   of   recent  theoretical

          developments in business and their strategic implications.

 

Eligibility:

Graduate in any discipline. Admission test is required. Exemptions from admission test for working professionals.

Programme Structure:

The programme has a modular structure ensuring continuity and flexibility. It consists of four modules. The completion of all the four modules leads to the Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. The first three modules taken together consist of 15 core (foundation) papers. Fourth module provides deeper study in management and consists of five electives. A student is required to seek specialization in one major area in the fourth semester. However, the student may seek dual specialisation by selecting five subjects from each field. Besides the course work, after the final semester students have to submit a dissertation related to their major specialisation. The student has to pay an additional fee Rs. 10,000/- for Dual Specialisation. The course is to be completed in Dual Specialisation also within maximum period of four years. The programme offers specialisations in the areas of Finance, Marketing, System, Operations, Human Resource Management and International Business.
